Demand Letter

The demand letter generated by our site costs $99 plus taxes. If you choose to send by registered mail, the cost is $25 plus tax per recipient.

You can request a written review by a lawyer, where the lawyer will provide their comments in the form of shortened notes, within 48 working hours. This option, offered at the time of payment, costs $50 plus taxes.

You can also request a telephone session in addition to the written review. If you choose this option, after the review, the lawyer will schedule a telephone meeting with you where you can ask any questions you may have. The telephone session with the written review adds $100 plus taxes to the cost of the base demand letter.

It is preferable to have all the necessary information at hand (for example, the date (s) of the events) so that you can best answer the questions on the smart form. This will save you time.

Remember that unless a legal review has been requested at the time of payment, Legalhood will not verify the formal notice when it is completed and you are fully responsible for its content, including the address of the recipient.

No. You are fully responsible for the content of the formal notice, including the recipient’s address. If the letter does not make it to its destination because of the wrong address, you will not be reimbursed.

If you did not choose the $ 25 per recipient option to have us send the letter by registered mail, you will need to take care of the mailing.

Once you have completed the smart form, paid the fees and signed electronically, your demand letter will be available, and you can print it if necessary. It will also be available from your Legalhood.com dashboard.

If you have chosen the option to have your letter sent by registered mail, you will receive proof of delivery by email. The emails will come directly from Canada Post.

Then you can expect one of the following four scenarios:

(1) The opposing party will accept your claim

(2) The opposing party will make a counter-offer

(3) The opposing party will completely deny your claim

(4) The other party will not answer you at all

Before signing your demand letter, you will see all of the information transmitted during the process. You can check this information and make changes if necessary. You will see its final appearance when you electronically sign it.

NO, Legalhood is not a law firm. However, we do offer technological tools to help you resolve your conflicts. If you have any doubts or questions about your legal situation, we advise you to use the services of a lawyer.

YES, the Legalhood system is available wherever you have access to an internet connection. Make sure the connection is secure. However, for the best experience using Legalhood, we recommend that you use your computer.

The system is in service at all times, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please note that some legal review and call services are available during business hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and are not available on weekends and holidays.

There may also be temporary interruptions for the maintenance of the site, If so, we are sorry for the inconvenience.

YES. Legalhood can be used anytime and anywhere in the world, as long as you have access to an internet connection. It is possible that a country or jurisdiction can block you from accessing the Legalhood website. In such a case, Legalhood is not responsible for any inconvenience resulting therefrom.

YES, Legalhood uses the TLS v1.2 (Transport Layer Security) protocol which is secured with encryption that offers the highest level of security for both your transactions and your personal information. In addition, we store and process your personal information on servers located in Canada which are protected by physical and technological security devices. We do not share any of this data with others without your approval.

You are responsible for the documents sent to you by Legalhood, and these are normally found on your Legalhood dashboard. However, if you cannot find them, please contact us by email at support@Legalhood.com and our customer service team can help you find the documents.

Small Claims

The total price varies depending on the legal à la carte service chosen. However, in all cases it includes $99 plus tax for platform administration and postage.

Also, keep in mind that the prices do not include legal fees, commonly known as court fees. You should therefore plan that an additional amount will be charged to you for filing your documents in court. You will need to pay the court fees when you finish filling out the form.

In the exceptional case where it is impossible for us to serve you, you will be reimbursed in full.

2.1 Legal review: $ 120 + taxes

A lawyer will review your request and provide you with comments in the form of notes. You will therefore have the opportunity to make changes to your claim before submitting it to the court.

2.2 Legal review + telephone meeting with a lawyer: $ 170 + taxes

A lawyer will review your request and set up a telephone meeting with you to provide you with comments and answer your legal questions.

2.3. Legal review + telephone meeting with a lawyer + preparation for the trial: $ 240 + taxes

This option includes services 2.1 and 2.2, above, as well as a pre-trial preparation session. You will be better able to present arguments to the judge and to challenge the arguments of the opposing party.

If you decide not to go ahead with your application, you will only be reimbursed if the file has not yet been sent to the courthouse. Once the file has been sent, it is not possible to recover the funds.

However, you will be reimbursed for services that you did not receive or consume. For example, if you never got a review and phone appointment with a lawyer or paralegal that you scheduled, you will be reimbursed for those services.

We guarantee that a lawyer will review your request within two (2) business days from the day you complete your smart form. Be sure to fill out the form correctly and fully; we do not guarantee the deadlines if it is not fully completed.

If your case is too complex and it is not possible for our lawyers or paralegals to comment on your case constructively, you will be reimbursed. The lawyer or our customer service will contact you directly to notify you.

We guarantee that the lawyer (or customer service) will send you an email to schedule a telephone appointment within two (2) business days of your request. You will have to choose from a few dates and times that will be offered to you, failing which the telephone meeting may not take place within the guaranteed time limits. Be careful to fill out the form correctly; we do not guarantee the deadlines if it is not fully completed.

If it is not possible for our lawyers or paralegals to constructively comment on your case, for example because it is too complicated or too vague, you will be reimbursed. The lawyer or our customer service will contact you directly to notify you.

We guarantee that the lawyer will email or call you so that you can schedule a phone appointment with him. You will have to choose from a list of availale dates and times that will be offered to you.

We guarantee that the lawyer will send you an email so that you can set up a telephone appointment with them within two (2) business days of your request. You will have to choose among the few dates and times that will be offered to you. Be careful to fill out the form correctly: we do not guarantee the deadlines if it is not fully completed.

If it is not possible for our lawyers or paralegals to represent you in court, they will notify you as soon as possible.

The call costs $ 79 plus tax.

This product is great because you get to have a conversation with a lawyer and you will receive a return call in 24 hours at a flat fee. Just note that your response time will depend on if you fill out the form during working hours from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the exception of public holidays. If you fill out the form outside of these time slots, you will get your return call the next day.

No, Legalhood.com is a virtual legal platform, not a law firm.
When you complete a request to “Talk to a Lawyer”, you will receive a call back from an attorney at Assistance Lawyers, or one of their partners.

When you complete a request to speak to a lawyer, the platform puts you in contact with one of our partnered lawyers.

No. The lawyer who will call you will guide you as best they can based on the information you have submitted to them through the form. The lawyer is there to answer your question and / or offer you a summary strategy for your situation.

The call usually ends after fifteen (15) minutes. However, if you have enjoyed working with the lawyer and want to continue with them, you will receive their information by email and you can get in touch with them again.

You can pay by credit card, either with Visa, MasterCard or American Express.

This service is billed directly by Assistance Avocats Inc. You will receive a receipt by email.

If this happens, you can schedule a call with the appropriate lawyer later that day or in the days following, depending on your preference and your respective availability. You will also have the option of getting reimbursed.
